QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.” – Lou Holtz

REGIONALS ROUNDUP

EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT COLE SAGER

In case you hadn’t heard, Cole Sager was in 9th place going into Event 7. His win coupled with how the rest of the field placed, propelled him to grab the fifth and final spot to Carson. If you haven’t actually seen the final heat of the West Regionals, do yourself a favor and watch the 2:32 it takes Cole to crush Event 7. Here’s what the CrossFit world has to say the “Sager Tooth Tiger.”

Katrin Davidsdottir: (Literally Screaming) “You are something else! Hahahahahah WAY to go. One workout at a time, all you got. So very well deserved. Congrats!!!!”

Heather Bergeron: “He’s Cole Sager. He did it last year, he did it last night, and he could do it all over again next year. That man can make magic happen.”

Rory McKernon: “This kid almost gave me a heart attack.”

ATHLETES’ REFLECTION ON ATLANTIC, WEST REGIONALS

Jeff Evans: “Things didn’t go too well. The effort I put in … It (stinks). My body reacted a split second after. It didn’t give me an advantage. Everyone has a personal judge and then there’s the head judge. He watched me more than anyone else. The guy who won it did the same thing but they didn’t catch him. Honestly, when I look at it, I made a mistake not touching the right way. If I take emotion out of competing and analyze it, I’m real critical of myself. I have to go from here.”

Cole Sager: “Words cannot express the love and gratitude I have for the @crossfit community and the support that was shown to me in so many unrelenting ways during every moment of the #WestRegional.”

Emily Bridgers: “Feeling on top of the world after this weekend! … Some have said I made it look easy this year, but easy is far from how I would describe it. This was the most mentally challenging regionals of them all.”

Talayna Fortunato: “X’s and O’s to you all! ? XOXO So many thank you’s! First to my family for more things than I can possibly list…And everyone who tuned in at home to watch or sent a kind word.”

Carleen Matthews: “We’re going to Disneyland!”

HOW DO ALL THE QUALIFIERS STACK UP?

We’ve all wondered how the top athletes from each region stack up against one another. Is Josh Bridges fitter? Is Ben Smith? What about Camille? FloElite assembled the 2016 CrossFit Games qualifiers so far into a super leaderboard to answer that very question.

Are the Andersons CrossFit’s first family dynasty? Bar Bend asks, then makes the case. On Sports Illustrated’s fittest 50 list this year were five female CrossFit athletes, (Samantha Briggs, Talayna Fortunato, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, Christmas Abbott and Mattie Rogers), well technically Mattie Rogers is an Olympic weightlifter so just four. And Dave Castro chimes in on SI’s 50 fittest. We think he’s #NotImpressed. New pics of the Reebok Nano 6.0. Scott Panchik wants to know what advice you’d give to your younger self. Kill Cliff uses The Force. Rich Froning is going on a road trip. Sam Dancer is rocking the banana hammock super strong (WARNING: It’s graphic).
