QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Nobody who ever gave his best regretted it.” – George Halas

THE COMPETITION FLOOR

EXCLUSIVE TO MORNING CHALK UP

Alyssa Ritchey on finishing 19th at the South Regional:

“I was disappointed with how I performed. When I was in practice a few weeks back I pulled something in my hamstring/calf which stopped all lower body movements for a month. When I performed Event 1 it was the first day I had done the workout and snatched in a month which stinks because my snatches were on point this year but it is what it is. I burnt myself out this year. I moved from Ohio to Colorado, had to find & purchase a car, find a job or two (I have 3 now), and finishing up school (which is finished). About mid season I realized I was walking out of the gym exhausted and not finishing my training. It was all too much. However if you know me I try my hardest to be the best I can be at everything. I would love to be the athlete that wakes up does the eat-train-rest routine about 3 times a day but that is not a realistic lifestyle for me. Maybe someday it will change and I am busting my butt to try to make it a possibility. There are so many opportunities that life throws at you and sometimes its hard to choose whats the right path or right choice to make. I love competing and being an elite athlete but its not something that can be my main priority right now. But who knows maybe this year God could bless me with the opportunity to be an athlete. Even if it didn’t turn out the way I was expecting I still love what I do and who I am. I am more than just a face of CrossFit. I am someone who can dominate in all areas of life. At the end of the day I am healthy individual that has a roof over her head and food to eat everyday. I would say I have a pretty perfect life.

From racing motorcycles to CrossFit, MidAtlantic adaptive athlete is heading to Canada for the Worldwide WheelWOD Championships. A sad day for Sarah Loogman (CA – 15th) who mourns the loss of her grandfather: “Cancer can take away many things but cancer does not win.” Do yourself a favor and click this. Pat Sherwood providing all the motivation and inspiration you need today. Custom line of sunglasses (or guns) for theCrossFit Games are coming. Looks like Sarah Pierce (AKA “tri-sarah-tops”)injured her C spine during some overhead squats. Miranda Oldroyd front squats 225 pounds post ACL surgery. We don’t know what this is called, but looks like a great (spicy) weightlifting warmup.
