“Don’t do CrossFit”

Good morning. It’s Thursday, June 30, and this is your Morning Chalk Up. We’re up in San Francisco and we dropped in to United Barbell, the home of Colleen Fotsch. They’ve got an amazing box in downtown SF that you definitely should check out if you’re ever in the City.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“There is no pass/fail grade in life. No Cs get degrees discussion. It’s one shot to reach your maximum potential. 60% effort may have cut it through college…60% effort would sure be a waste for the rest of your life.” – Jason Khalipa

THE COMPETITION FLOOR

18 days until the 2016 CrossFit Games.

GAMES PREP

Not the PR we usually see posted, but Brent Fikowski hit an 11 foot vertical touch. Josh Bridges: “Only thing that matters is what you are doing right now. Keep moving. Stop feeling sorry for yourself.” Becca Voigt and Emily Bridgers end some WODs with a fun day of gymnastics. Carleen Mathews hits a new 3 rep overhead squat PR. Michele Letendre dragged some members of Deka CrossFit outside so she didn’t have to do assault bike intervals alone. Tia-Clair Toomey loves her new Nanos. Rob Forte does probably one of the worst workouts in the history of CrossFit: 14.5/16.5 then back up the pyramid, all unbroken.

CrossFit HQ’s top teams to watch.

Rumor mill, will the Games start on Tuesday? – FloElite screenshot the Games event page – which we can’t seem to access – and it showed a slot for an event on Tuesday.

GRANITE GAMES

Final qualifier WOD is released tonight at 7PM Central.

This woman waited more than a year to try CrossFit — “I felt really encouraged. Not only did the women say that they grew stronger through classes at the gym, their bodies changing and toning in ways they didn’t forsee (the evidence was quite visible), but they also were always excited to come to the gym to see such motivating people.”
