CrossFit Hate Mail — It’s been so long since we’ve seen any CrossFit rants in the news we figured folks just got tired of spouting the same old BS, then Christine King came back for round two, writing: “All of the science and studies we’ve poured over for years in order to provide comprehensive, safe and effective exercise has been thrown out the window by the box. Their website reads ‘To reap the greatest benefits from CrossFit, you have to be willing to push yourself, to be uncomfortable, to suffer for reward.'” King continues, “scientific studies including the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, reveal that 73.5 percent of CrossFitters sustain injuries that prevent them from carrying out everyday activities.” Feel free to read the rest here.
The Small But Mighty Gym — Way out in the middle of Indiana lives Molly Pabst, one of the co-owners of Common Ground CrossFit & Yoga. After coaching CrossFit for two years, Pabst knew that this was her passion and wanted to create a space that would reflect her personality and help her share her fitness philosophy. “CrossFit has truly allowed me to see that strong is the new skinny and that having muscle is a good thing. My confidence level has gone through the roof since my journey started and it’s because I surround myself with people who see beauty not in a thigh gap, but by how much muscle they can build to fill that gap.”
