WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU HIT THE BOX

We’ve partnered with RPM Fitness to give away a jump rope to one lucky winner. All you need to do is correctly predict the winner of 17.5.

Dave Castro dropped a hint for 17.5, which can be loosely translated to “dead meat.” Ronnie Castro, Dave’s younger brother dropped by CrossFit Terminus and revealed this spoiler. Julie Foucher is finishing up her finals day of med school. Sam Briggs and Travis Mayer won 17.4.

WHAT TO TELL YOURSELF WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH…

A reader named Amy sent us a lovely note. She’s a box owner who sometimes struggles with wearing all 30 hats she has to wear on a daily basis. Trust us, we get it. Yesterday, she shared something special: “keep doing what you’re doing! Because of YOU I have decided to finally put together a monthly newsletter for my athletes to include all of what’s going on at the box for the entire month.” Thanks Amy. We’ll be the first to share it when it comes out.

CHALK UP AFFILIATES

“These Women Changed My Life” — Rana Bartee started CrossFit a few months back at FISH CrossFit in Pomeroy, Ohio. What started as fitness quickly became something more like family. And the more FISH mothers and daughters she met the more that became a reality. A photographer by profession, Rana created this special photo project to share some of these “brave and resilient,” “beautiful and mighty,” “loving and strong” ladies she’s come to love.

CHALK UP READS

When Nancy Worthley started CrossFit three years ago, she weighed 165 lb. Today, she still weighs 165 lb. To interpret that as lack of improvement would be missing vitally important information. The 68-year-old is healthier than she’s ever been.

Worthley’s serious health problems began at 40, when she had a heart attack. The incident led her to cardiac rehabilitation and to giving up cigarettes, a vice she had fed for 26 years with two packs a day.
