In my first trip to the regionals in 2013, I never would have thought I would have finished second and qualified for my first CrossFit Games, let alone 4 more after that. They have been some of the most fun years of my life, and now I want to share that fun with others. This year I’m competing team with my T2 CrossFit team! I’m super excited for the change and it has ignited a new fire in me to be the best I can be!”

What to tell your friend who’s always forgetting their shaker bottle…

Time for an upgrade. Shaker and water bottles can take up quite a bit of space, especially if you don’t feel like carrying a backpack or gym bag with you to work. John and Brandon, being the two former military geniuses they are, decided to create the world’s first collapsible multipurpose shaker bottle — the GoPUCC. It collapses down into the size and shape of a hockey puck, hence the name. The two best parts: it works with hot or cold liquids and has both ounces and milimeter measurements on the sides. Cheers for finding a way to remove that rattling from our backpack.

THINGS TO…

HEAR: Maintaining Motivation When Training for the Olympics
Four years is a long long time to focus on training. Just think, how many years have you been doing CrossFit or even at your current job. We’ve all seen focus wane and fail over time, so how does Jessica Lucero do it?
THAT’S A GOOD QUESTION.

EAT: Steak Tips Hash
We love to make all kinds of hash because they’re literally super easy and you can almost always find three ingredients in your fridge to throw together in a skillet. This recipe from PaleOMG is both scrumptious and effortless which makes “8PM I just got home and too tired to cook” dinners, well, effortless.

CHALK UP AFFILIATES

How has CrossFit helped you achieve a goal?

“I was a gymnast until age 15 when diagnosed with a neurogenic inflammatory disorder. I walked a fine line to prevent neuropathic pain. To see how much further I could push that fine line, I joined CrossFit Stapleton. Ever since, I gained back what I lost when told I was no longer an athlete – the excited feeling of my inner gymnast swinging on the bars and walking on my hands in celebration of what my body can do. I didn’t enter the box an athlete, but CrossFit made me one.” — Colleen Bartman, CrossFit Stapleton in Denver, CO
