CORRECTION:  An article published on January 18, 2022, about the CrossFit Games at Lake Monona, Wisconsin, which has since been taken down, did not report information about when Madison & Dane County Public Health reported E. coli test results to CrossFit Games in advance of events taking place at Lake Monona last summer.  There was a one-day incubation period before the department reported test results from testing in event locations specifically requested by CrossFit.  The test results returned to CrossFit on the first day of events at Olin Boat Launch (taken from samples the day before) reported that the water there was safe.  It was one day after events first took place at Olin Boat Launch that the department reported unsafe levels of E. coli.  In addition, Morning Chalk Up incorrectly reported that the swim event took place at Olin Beach, where unsafe levels of E. coli were reported on July 28 and July 29.  No swim events took place at Olin Beach.  We regret the errors.
