Bench PR…

We're back on another retesting week at CrossFit Adelaide and this morning we threw down on the bench.
Previous result was 107kg, and I went for 110kg after that but I didn't allow myself enough time so failed pretty quickly. This morning I went in with the goal of 110kg and was more careful with my approach. The lift sequence was reps of 10, 5, 5, 3, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1... so much more controlled and structured, which definitely makes a difference.

So there you have it... 110kg! While it wasn't easy, it actually felt pretty good. There's more in the tank for next time. One of my goals for this year is 120kg on the bench... now seems much more achievable.
This was followed by max reps at 70% where I managed 16 at 77kg, then a nice little burner of 4 rounds of 2 legless rope climbs and 15 toes to bar. Needless to say typing this post isn't the easiest thing for my forearms at the moment!
