Connor Voltz and Jess Green Officially Win 2025-2026 WZA Online Challenge and Qualifier

November 7, 2025 by

Connor Voltz from the United States and Australia’s Jess Green officially topped the leaderboard for the 2025-2026 Wodapalooza Online Challenge and Qualifier (WZA OCQ). Invitations were recently sent out to the athletes who competed.

  • Although the workout scores for the Individual divisions were due last month, the WZA team has spent the past few weeks reviewing them to ensure accuracy.

Team qualifiers begin on November 13, and the competition will take place from March 12 to 15 in Miami Beach, FL.

Remind me: The top 10 men and women will compete as Elites, along with invitees who will be announced closer to the event. Athletes placing 11th through 49th will compete in the RX Division.

As results came in and the leaderboard was finalized, Games athletes like Luka Ðukić, Nick Mathew, Ellie Turner, Bill Leahy, Hannah Black, and Matilde Garnes stood out among the rest. Those names remain officially on the competition roster, along with other Semifinal athletes and some rising stars.

Voltz is no stranger to WZA Miami — he has competed three times in various divisions, once as part of an elite team and twice as an elite individual.

  • “I learn something new about myself every year, and I get to meet a lot of great people who share common goals,” Voltz told Morning Chalk Up in an interview. “The best part about the weekend is being able to spend it with all the people who support me the most, and that causes me to feel much less pressure knowing that my friends and family are just there to cheer me on, regardless of the outcome.”

Voltz credits his success to the strong support of his close-knit community—especially his coach, Brett Sepi, who designs all of his training programs. Though Voltz often trains alone, he’s occasionally joined by a few close friends. Their presence, he says, makes a huge difference: “They make training fun, and it never feels like working out when I’m with them,” Voltz shared.

For Green, this wasn’t her first time winning an online qualifier. Several months ago, she took the title at the Down Under Championship online qualifiers, which boosted her confidence going into these.

  • “Sold my soul on each workout (or redo, haha), and the win definitely made it feel like it paid off,” Green told Morning Chalk Up.

Like Voltz, Green arrives with valuable WZA experience under her belt. Last year, she took the competition floor as part of an elite team and recalled her trip to Miami Beach as “eye-opening.”

“It was incredible to step outside the Oceania field and see what the world standard is in our sport,” she told us. “The fire was well and truly lit to return to this level of competition.”

Green is looking forward to the months ahead, where she will train with her community at CrossFit Chocolate Box in Cromer, Australia.

  • But she has one more qualifier to go – she’ll be taking on the WZA team qualifiers next week.

And before she buckles down to focus on her trip to Miami Beach, she’ll head to the Bangkok Throwdown later this month. She’ll also compete in the CrossFit Open, which kicks off two weeks prior to WZA.
