Details for the 2026 World Fitness Project (WFP) were shared this week, including Tour Stop and qualifier dates, divisions, and season structure.

  • A new Tour Stop location has been added, and the point system has been updated. And, Project 1 is returning for anyone who wants to participate.

Here’s what you need to know.

Tour Stop Dates and Locations

Similar to last year, the season will consist of three events, including two Tour Stops and a Final.

  • This year’s new location, the Santa Fe Expo Center in Mexico City, Mexico, will host the first Tour Stop, May 1-3.
  • The second Tour Stop will head back to Indiana, where the event will be held at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, on August 28-30.
  • The Finals will once again be held at Bella Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, December 17-20.

At both Tour Stops, the Pro men’s and women’s fields will each consist of 50 athletes, and the Elite Team field will consist of 20 Elite teams.

All individuals, Signed Pros, and Challengers will compete in the Pro division; there is no separate Challenger division for individuals at Tour Stops or the Finals during the 2026 season.

  • “For 2026, our focus is on sharpening the core product,” Will Moorad, the WFP Director of Sport, said.

He continued, “Rather than stretching competition across multiple competitive tiers, we chose to double down on the elite season and the pathways that feed into it. This allows us to deliver a cleaner, compelling experience for athletes, fans, and partners while we continue to evaluate how best to support emerging competitors long term.”

Online and In-Person Qualifiers

For the 2026 season, there will be three online qualifiers. The first two are for Challengers and Elite Teams. The Finals Qualifier is for Elite Teams and Individual Age Group divisions and will qualify directly for the World Fitness Finals.

The dates are as follows:

  • Tour Stop 1 Qualifiers – February 18-25.
  • Tour Stop 2 Qualifiers – July 1-8.
  • Finals Qualifiers – September 23-30.

This season, the WFP will also partner with existing competitions to serve as qualifying systems for Elite Teams and Individual Age Group divisions.

The first-place athletes and teams in their respective divisions at the following partner competitions will receive an invitation to compete at the 2026 World Fitness Finals.

  • Athens Throwdown – April 17-19 (Elite Teams, Masters Individual).
  • Monster Games – July 24-26 (Masters Individual).
  • Heart of America – October 9-11 (Elite Teams).

The WFP website states that more partner competitions will be added to this list “in early 2026.”

2026 WFP Point System

Athletes will earn and retain points based on their relative performance in each workout at each Tour Stop throughout the season.

In December, the male and female athletes with the most cumulative points across all workouts at both Tour Stops and the Finals will be crowned the 2026 World Fitness Champions.

At both Tour Stops, athletes start with zero points and earn points based on their placement in workouts, with each workout worth 100 points. The athlete with the most points at the end of a Tour Stop is declared the winner and receives the prize purse assigned for that Tour Stop.

The points earned at the conclusion of a Tour Stop count toward the athlete’s season total.

  • An example on the WFP website illustrates: If an athlete wins Tour Stop 1 with 553 points, they will retain those 553 points on the season-long points leaderboard. Those points will not count toward Tour Stop 2, but they will count toward qualifying and competing at the Finals.

At the Finals, athletes will start with the points they have collected during Tour Stops.

  • Distribution of points will differ at Tour Stops and the Finals because the fields are different sizes (50 per division at Tour Stops, 30 per division at the Finals).

At the conclusion of the World Fitness Finals, the athlete with the most total points across the entire season (including both Tour Stops and the Finals) will be crowned the World Fitness Champion, receive the attached prize purse, and be awarded the top Pro card contract for the 2027 season.

Worth noting: Signed Pros are not guaranteed invitations to the Finals this year. Regardless of status (Signed Pro or 2026 Challenger), the top 30 point-earners will receive Finals spots.

The Bottom Line

With the first set of qualifiers just weeks away and the first Tour Stop scheduled in less than four months, the 2026 season is effectively underway.

Pro Card contracts were sent this week, and athletes have 10 days to accept. Backfills will be offered to the next athletes on the 2025 Season Leaderboard.
