ATHLETE ROUNDUP — Chyna Cho spent the weekend at Disneyland. Even though Camille Leblanc-Bazinet’s first language is French, you rarely hear her speaking it. Kelsey Kiel’s skills include petting dogs and eating peanut butter. Elijah Muhammad snatches 300 pounds again and cleans 380. Jared Enderton snatches 315 pounds then he snatches 320 pounds. Scott Panchik hits himself in the head with a barbell during the CrossFit Team Series. Molly Vollmer got her hair done. This is how Lucas Parker is changing his training for the next few months: max chin-ups, front squats, 6K row. Vincent Lipsey does a 33″ deficit handstand push-up. Lucas Parker celebrated Thanksgiving over the weekend (he’s Canadian y’all). Scott Hisaka clean and jerks 407 pounds.

Welcome to Heartland Elementary School — They converted a former classroom into a CrossFit box and opened their own affiliate – HES CrossFit. They actually allow students to take mental breaks to get out of their seats, move around, and have fun with fitness as well as teach CrossFit as a PE elective for the Middle School. “We believe in getting the kids out of their seats. We believe in getting the kids to think creatively, to learn to be thinkers…The kids take such pride and ownership of what they’re doing.”

Stories We Love — Members of CrossFit 806 in Amarillo, Texas raised money to raise money for an orphanage in Uganda. World Camp CrossFit in Albany, Georgia has removed their drop-in fee for anyone who was evacuate to the Albany area due to the hurricane. CrossFit Ilium in Troy, Alabama raised $120,000 in their annual “WOD for Water” which uses the money to help Neverthirst, an international nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to bringing clean and living water to the poor.
Rush Club is an MMA style head-to-head style match-up between CF pros, adaptive athletes, and veterans. Past champions include athletes like Lindy Barber, Noah Ohlsen, Sam Dancer and Jennifer Dancer. Their next bout is coming November 12th in Clearwater Beach, FL just after the 11th Warrior camp wraps up. If you’ve never seen Rush Club before, watch Noah Ohlsen take home the “W” in Rush Club 002.
