Jason Khalipa returns to the competition floor, leading team NC Fit at Wodapalooza in two weeks. Carly Fuhrer can jump 43″ from a seated box. Christa Giordano of 12 Labours CrossFit is pretty good at the trapeze. Christy Adkins reads a book while the day after Christmas sales. Sheila Barden joined Julie Foucher in her annual Christmas marathon row. Tia-Clair Toomey, we don’t know how to describe this movement but it looks rather taxing. The Fronings have the cutest Christmas picture.

“Now, You Can Get Your CrossFit Fix on Vacation” by the Observer

If you’re truly hardcore, you won’t settle for a waterside stroll. You won’t be able to give up your devotion to the cult of CrossFit, simply because you’re out of town. After all, when you’re imbibing is when you’ll need burpees the most.

The resort, located on a private island close to Antigua, is partnering with ICE NYC, a popular Manhattan-based CrossFit gym. ICE doesn’t only offer CrossFit, though. Other options include HIIT and yoga, for those who aren’t quite ready to commit to the weight room. It’s their third location, and is much more tropical than their Wall Street adjacent one.

The classes will be taught by true experts, CrossFit Games athletes Ian Berger and Amuy Dracup, until December 31.

“Fitter Than Ever: CrossFit Games Masters Champion Ron Mathews” by BarBend

Ron Mathews has done a bit of it all over the course of his length fitness career. He’s a celebrity trainer, author, fitness model, and competitive fitness athlete, most recently taking home 1st place in the Men’s 45-49 year old division at the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games. A four-time Games athlete, Mathews has improved on his placing every year, a consistent climb that eventually led to a championship.

I’m particularly lucky to call Ron a friend and mentor. A few weeks ago, I caught up with him to gain some insight into how his training and training philosophy has evolved over the years.
