LATE BREAKING.
Frederik Aegidius is Going to the CrossFit Games
|
DEVELOPING…According to Annie Thorisdottir’s Instagram story, which was posted late yesterday, Frederik Aegidius just got invited to compete in the CrossFit Games. Frederik placed 6th at the European Regional, which means one of the top five finishers was disqualified, most likely due to a failed drug test.
Back in mid-June, CrossFit HQ announced that three non-qualifying Regional athletes failed drug tests and also revealed that “there are additional athletes who have been notified of a banned substance violation” Since that announcement, there’s been speculation that at least one of those additional athletes is a Games qualifier.
We’ll be tracking this story and have more for you as it develops.
Stay tuned.

Best Amazon Prime Deals for Our Fit Fam
|
Yay! Online shopping!
Just in case you live under a cave and haven’t heard, today is Amazon Prime Day, which officially kicks off at 12PM PT today and last 36 hours.
Get yourself some gear
There are a ton of fitness tracker deals. Like this Fitbit. Or maybe you geek out on data like we do and want to step up your tracking with this Garmin. Only use Apple products? We got you covered. But at least consider Suunto before making up your mind. And, get the kids involved with their own fitness trackers too. (We love these for the kiddos.)
Don’t leave the house naked.
Seeing as how public indecency is generally frowned upon (we don’t really understand either) check out these deals on sports bras and leggings for the ladies. These joggers will do the trick if you hate running errands in sweaty booty shorts.
Or maybe don’t leave the house at all?
Make a dent in that garage gym with a set of resistance bands. Or an ab roller. (Always fun.) Dumbbells will always get you going at home. And so will kettlebells. And, although not Amazon, Caffeine & Kilos is giving away a free jump rope with every purchase while supplies last.
Don’t forget to eat.
It’s our favorite part of training. Fuel up with Nooma who is offering 30% off on Amazon with the code “30PRIMEDAY.” Also, these TruWomen protein bars are so good, maybe just as good as these Wickedly Prime snack bars.
Because GAINZ.
Protein. Lots of protein.
Don’t Forget the fam.
The term “CrossFit Widow” didn’t come out of nowhere, so don’t forget to get something for your Swolemate. And lets not forget your cat. They miss you when you’re at the gym, too.

Brooke Ence Launches a Training App
|
Do tell.
Just when you thought Brooke Ence couldn’t get any cooler, she got cooler. She’s developed a new app called the Naked Training App.
You had me at naked.
Earlier this year Brooke and Jacob Hutton launched an eight-week training app with the motto, “Train to look good naked” and today that plan goes mobile. But it’s more than just looking good naked; it also gives you mobility routines, personalized macros and nutrition guidelines, and access to their exclusive Facebook support group.
Oh, fancy.
So fancy even beginners will want in on it. Which is fine, because the Naked Training App offers progressions to follow so you can work your way up the training ladder. And, you’ll get discounts on some of Brooke’s sponsors like Athia, Pyrkia, Kill Cliff, and EnceWear.
Will I look as good as Brooke?
Maybe. But if not, at least you’ll be one step closer to looking good naked.

What to tell your exhausted coworker who is dragging her feet back into the office today…
If you’re that exhausted, it might be something else. There is a difference between being tired and being exhausted. Here are ten symptoms to look for if you think it’s something more than just plain ole’ lack of sleep and not enough coffee.
But, what to tell your coworker who drinks four pots of coffee to keep going throughout the day…
Maybe it’s too much? We know, we know. Blasphemy. Everyone loves a good cup (or pot) of coffee, but how do you know when enough is enough? Here are six signs you might have a caffeine addiction.

Place Your Bets — Pinnacle, the UK’s premier sports betting website, is now taking bets on winners for the CrossFit Games. The odds have Mathew Fraser as a clear favorite (shocking). But since online gambling isn’t legal for the 50,000 of you living in the United States, you better try your hand at Reebok’s $2
million jackpot instead.
Supporting Your Elite Athletes — Glass City CrossFit in Toledo, OH believes that supporting their elite athletes is another way to support their community. Fifteen-year-old athlete Anthony Ray is headed to the 2018 Games this year, and Glass City is helping him get there. “It’s fun to rally behind someone,” said owner Melissa Fernandez. “Our community is so supportive for each other, whether it’s someone going to the Games or other things.”
Seeking Fire Department Patches — The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District is collecting fire department patches for a son of the late firefighter and EMS Joseph “Joe” Patterson. Patterson’s son wants to be a firefighter like his late father, and his mother is collecting patches to give him on his birthday.

“Letter to My Younger Self” by Michael Cazayoux, Morning Chalk Up
Dear 19-Year-Old-Michael,
Don’t do it.
Put the pipe down. Sprint, flee, fly as far away as you possibly can.
You’ve spent the last year or your life getting sober and you’ve worked so damn hard to get there too.
Think about Mom. She saved your life man.
In a few days, you’ll be sitting on the floor strung out from smoking crack, in a room filled with guns, prostitutes, needles, and dangerous people…you’ll look down at your bruised, bloody, track-marked arm and you’ll feel ashamed. Defeated. Worthless.
When you called her on your 18th birthday to tell her you were leaving rehab to get high again, you were expecting her to yell and scream. But she didn’t. She begged, teary-eyed until you agreed to return to treatment.
Mom was keeping hope alive, even when you tried your damndest to stomp it out.
