The Mount Pleasant Tiger’s basketball team has spent the last six weeks training at CrossFit Tico for the winter basketball season. Student members of the Iowa State University on-campus CrossFit club organized a lift and 5k run to bring students together. Not 100% sure whether he’s an affiliate owner or not, but Robert Bruce is being sentenced to house arrest and probation for setting up a charity to raise money for families of Sandy Hook Elementary School then nearly $30,000 of the $100,000 raised “to pay personal expenses and fun his CrossFit business.”
HACKED — Emails released between Coca-Cola VP and an outside consultant for the beverage giant and the Hillary Clinton campaign reveal big-soda’s coordinated political strategy to influence health policy at the local, state and federal level. One executive wrote, “The DC team continues to execute a robust campaign with Congress and the agencies to ensure that policy recommendation on a soda tax is not included in the final guidelines.”

AFFILIATE CORNER — CrossFit Crux’s teams are doing a 10 minute WOD every hour for 24 hours to raise money for Special Olympics Canada. Another amputee finds a home at a CrossFit affiliate, this time at CrossFit Mystic: “This is the first time I’ve felt like a real athlete again since losing my leg.
