No surprise here. Kara Webb demolishes Event 1 with a time of 5:29, which is going to be very challenging to beat. After struggling in the first couple rounds with some no reps, Kara Webb was able to make up some ground, but Alethea Boon could not be caught. She nearly finished Regionals Nate with only 10 kettlebell snatches remaining.

BarBend asks Games and Regionals Athletes who they’re top female picks for this weekend. Lots of repeats up their, but one name stuck out more than any other: Kristine Andali. Andali narrowly missed the Games in 2014. Then in 2015, she ruptured her achilles weeks before Regionals. In 2016, she finished 3rd in the SoCal Region. Not impressed yet? Once you see what she’s got hidden in her gym bag you’ll definitely be a fan.
Mattie Rogers wasted no time getting back into the gym after a disappointing finish in Utah where she missed her chance to make Rio on the USA Olympic Weightlifting Team. She wrote: “Quietly. Patiently. Until the job is done. #HeadDownEyesForward#ProveIt.” Expect big things out of this 20 year old over the next four years.
