WHAT TO TELL YOUR FRIEND WHO’S RECOVERING FROM SUBSTANCE ABUSE…

You’re not alone. 2x CrossFit Games athlete Carleen Mathews, 6 years sober, will be on site this weekend cheering on athletes at the Atlas Blarney Stone Competition in Denver, Colorado. This four person team competition is designed specifically for individuals healing from substance abuse. Per Ignmen CrossFit is partnering with Phoenix Multisport, a non-profit that has provided CrossFit and other physical programs to more than 5,000 men and women recovering from substance abuse disorders. All proceeds will go to support their program.

HOW TO TURN YOUR NEXT FOOD DRIVE INTO A COMMUNITY FITNESS EVENT…

Like many other affiliates, Orange Park CrossFit in Fleming Island, FL held a food drive to fill up the local pantry. But they didn’t just load up the trucks and drop it off. Nope, that would be way too easy. So 18 athletes took on the challenge of rucking more than 400 pounds of food 3.75 miles to the pantry, which included frequent stops for push-ups, flutter kicks and other painful activities.

A handful of students at Girls Athletic Leadership School in Denver, CO walk down the street to CrossFit DeCo instead of joining the regular P.E. class.
