QUOTE OF THE DAY
“There are only two options regarding commitment. You’re either IN or youre OUT. There is no such thing as life in-between.” – Pat Riley
THE COMPETITION FLOOR
Congratulations Cleveland on an historic win over the Warriors last night.
28 days until the 2016 CrossFit Games.
Kill Cliff Crush Games prelims kick off on Thursday.
GAMES PREP
Sam Briggs is following the same weightlifting program as Sara Sigmundsdottir. The MisFit Athletes Travis Williams and Alexis Johnson’s weekend WOD looked a lot like the 2014 CrossFit Games opener. Sheila Barden had the best rowing spot, period. Alessandra Pichelli headed to Santa Cruz for a beach WOD that included KB drags through the sand. Cyna Cho and Emily Bridgers doing some of what we’ve been seeing a lot of lately: odd objects, atlas stone carry/lifts, etc. Michele Letendre enjoying the heavy weights. Margaux Alvarez prepares for Dave Castro’s unknown. Sara Sigmundsdottir power clean to squat jerk looks really strong.
GRANITE GAMES
Week 2 qualifier scores MUST BE submitted by tonight at 7PM Central. Week 2 WOD details.

Golf Digest just cooked up probably one of the best anti-CrossFit whoppers we’ve seen in 2016 when they asked, “If you’re a golfer and you’re wondering whether you should be doing Olympic lifts as a way of bolstering your power and overall fitness…?” And answered with: “Don’t...but the typical person, who leads a typically sedentary life, is probably going to do more harm than good trying to clean-and-jerk a barbell at his or her local gym. These moves put a ton of stress on the shoulders, wrists, knees and lower back—the very areas of the body that already take a beating from golf. If you’re 25 and very fit, Olympic lifts are fine provided you first hone the proper form. You should NEVER EVER do these racing against the clock, despite what CrossFit coaches often recommend.”
HEALTH & MOBILITY
When it comes to the snatch, do what the Chinese do, trap pulls.
