Happy Black Friday!

Good morning and welcome to the Morning Chalk Up. Today’s edition was chalked up while hoping our first WOD back from Thanksgiving doesn’t hit us like this.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we hit it.” — Michelangelo

CHALK UP READS

This is the only thing you need to read today…

“On Thanksgiving, a letter of thanks to a man who made me healthier” by Daniel Finney

“Dear Nate Yoho, We met on one of the worst days of your life: your wife’s funeral.

I was assigned to write about your tragic love story. You met your wife, Laura, while the two of you worked at Aspen Athletic Club on Merle Hay Road.

In late December 2014, I hurt my back. The injury became chronic because I was morbidly obese, weighing close to 600 pounds…You texted me and suggested I work out at your gym, CrossFit Merle Hay.

I was afraid, and ashamed…How repulsive I must look to someone as fit as you. Still, I came to your gym in March, and I immediately wanted to run away. I had no business there, but your calm and direct demeanor persuaded me to set up a schedule. I was so sore after our first session, I texted you and told you it wasn’t for me.”
