First off, congratulations for finishing the Open and stop getting down on yourself. If you think you have what it takes to be a Masters competitor, you might want to consider CompTrain Masters, put together by coach Ben Bergeron — he coaches Katrin Davidsdottir, Mathew Fraser, Brooke Wells and Cole Sager. This year, they had enough qualifiers that it made sense to make special t-shirts and racerbacks. We’re told it’s around 300 across all divisions. Dang.

FOR YOUR NEXT BUSINESS PLANNING IDEA…This kinda-sorta but not quite CrossFit gym asked some buddies to open a coffee shop next door and now they both work together. The coffee shop serves locally sources food and health beverages while the health conscious consumer can get in a workout next door.

Williamston CrossFit in Williamston, MI is holding a fundraiser WOD this weekend to raise money to buy weekend survival kits, which supplies kids with food during non-school hours in the Lansing, Michigan area.The small town of Higganum, CT welcomed their first commercial gym to the 7,000 person town and it’s CrossFit Ironworks.

“Setting a New Standard: How Liefia Ingalls Made History” by Athlete Daily

Long before she was crowned the first-ever Arnold Pro Strongwoman Champion, Liefia Ingalls was just a CrossFit athlete who wanted to do strength stuff in her backyard.

Ingalls had seen YouTube videos of Strongman competition so, about four years ago, she bought some molds and Googled “make your own atlas stones”. It wasn’t until about a year into her little California backyard experiment that she came across a video of women doing stones in a competition.

“I was like, ‘Oh my god, women can compete in this!,” said Ingalls, who had always preferred deadlifts and pressing over running and burpees.
