It’s the beauty of the affiliate model: CrossFit gyms can be run in many ways.
But as new affiliate owners quickly learn, running a CrossFit gym requires tough decisions—such as whether to hold your athletes to a membership contract.
“My gut tells me that (having membership contracts) certainly has a positive impact on our bottom line and our fixed revenue stream,” said Tucker Jones, owner of Ballston CrossFit in Arlington, Virginia

Just Opened — Stephanie Munds just opened CrossFit 4982 in Loveland, Colorado. What’s with the name you ask? Loveland sits at an elevation of 4982 feet. Congratulations on the new box.
Coming to an affiliate near you, the Row’d Royalty, an online rowing competition to find out who’s the best overall rower. The Open style competition takes place over four weeks and they’re giving away a Concept2 rower each week. Last year, 400 affiliates in 45 states and 20 countries participated.
Student of the Month, Zakary Todd — The 5-year-old from Prescott, Arizona started gymnastics when he was 1 and joined CrossFit for Kids at age 5. “At home Zakary has a younger brother with Autism. He models confidence and resilience by showing his brother how to play, how to be happy and how to talk through songs.”
