Suspended and Speaking Out — There have been a handful of suspensions in the last year for violating CrossFit’s drug policy. We reported on one yesterday, and today, 3rd place Masters 45-49 finisher Scott Jones responds: “I was absolutely shocked at this news. I was prescribed the medication by my doctor for a medical condition…I would never intentionally do something to gain an unfair advantage and I am truly sorry that this has happened. It was my ignorance in being unaware of the banned substances…CrossFit has a zero tolerance policy so based on that I was treated fairly.”

Meet Maddy Curley Former gymnast, actress, writer and 2x CrossFit Games athlete who quit CrossFit after her first WOD — Chelsea. She’s just released her first writer/director/actor debut film: Chalk It Up. “My acting career is the only thing that ever makes me wonder if I should give up CrossFit. That said, there’s always a little voice reminding me that I like staying strong because it’s how I’ve been since I was little. And very few females in Hollywood have muscles. I hope to become a bigger name in Hollywood so little girls can see that they can still be girly and ‘attractive’ by Hollywood standards even if they are muscular and play sports.”
