Meet Nick Wishart of Pawtucket, RI. The 48-year-old is gearing up to compete in the World Marathon Challenge; to run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents. Nick is a member of Industrial Revolution CrossFit, which he joined in January, and now admits “it’s the most inspiring place I’ve ever seen…and I’m almost more excited to go there than I am to go out and run.”
A member of CrossFit DC became the first female tank officer in the Marine Corps.

CrossFit athletes pride themselves on entering the pain cave. It happens when your heart rate is pumping at 180 beats per minute and you dig deeper still, then keep pushing for another minute or two before toppling to the ground after your final rep.
Now imagine working at a 90 percent heart rate or higher without stopping for an hour-and-a-half. This is reality for two-time Canadian Olympian Emily Batty.
The cross-country mountain biker, who won a bronze medal at the 2016 World Championships, explained cardiovascular endurance is a big part of her sport, as is suffering the pain of burning lungs and lactate in the muscles.
