Lauren Fisher joins the “functional fitness while injured” club.Stacie Tovar is headed back to Atlanta to hang with Emily Bridgers. Val Voboril hits a 260 pound back squat PR. Emily Bridgers spent some timeplaying tennis. Carleen Mathews does a WOD in the airport. Melissa Dosspractices her DB snatches in preparation for the Granite Games. Five Things You Should Know About Wodapalooza — An original from our own Jesse Friedl, as she sits down with Dylan Malitsky, one of the GMs of theWodapalooza Fitness Festival, which is in our opinion “the official kickoff of the 2017 competition season.” Why would we say this you ask? Because 6 of the top 7 male and female 2016 Wodapalooza winners competed at the 2016 CrossFit Games. It’s also four day long and includes experiences like hot tubs with bevys!, live music, fan competitions and warm weather in January.

IN 2 MINUTES —

The history of the bench press and CrossFit and why you don’t see it programmed as often at your local box. It’s officially hit mainstream news, as the NY Post reports that “doing CrossFit two days in a row could get you sick.” A former gymnast who had part of her leg amputated because of a rare vascular disease returned to her CrossFit class for the first time since surgery and was welcomed with support and cheers. We had some fun with Photoshop last night.

HEALTH, MOBILITY AND MERCH

How much time do you spend doing accessory work like this? Does your full extension looks like Jenn Jones’ when you snatch?

Today’s EMOM is brought to you by Chris Spealler.
