Yesterday on Talking Elite Fitness, Sean Woodland and Tommy Marquez discussed last week’s live Open announcements:
Tommy: “You hope that it’s going to get remedied going forward. I don’t want the Open to continue to be this product that people lose faith in it because it should be a community rallying point. And I think there were other issues on top of that including some technical issues from my personal standpoint trying to watch the Open…It’s unfortunate that things stumbled out of the gates, to put it lightly.”
Sean: “The thing that I fear now is that after seeing this that now people who said ‘oh I’m done with this, I’m turning this off, no more,’ those people are probably going to come back, they tend to, but how much more of that can they take? That’s my question. If this happens again, if this is what they’re getting for 19.2, at what point are people just going to go ‘I don’t want to do this anymore’”?

The Love Story Behind the Asia CrossFit Championship — Max Ma and Carrie Yan, the two organizers behind the Asia CrossFit Championship, tell the story of their engagement, which took place while cleaning up after last year’s event.
— “This year has been the most challenging year so far. But it has also been the smoothest one. I had the same conversation with her on working together again. We are doing what we love on a daily basis and doing it with the people we love. How can you not take that?” said Max.
What Life Long Health Looks Like for Julie Foucher — Sharing some throwback photos from when she was a CrossFit Games athlete, Julie Foucher writes, “One of the first thoughts I had was ‘I wish I could look that fit again’…how common it is for us to make comparisons to former versions of ourselves or other people who have goals and lives that are completely different from our own.
— “I have trouble letting go of this vision of looking or performing the way I did when this photo was taken. I find myself thinking that if I could just do an extra workout this week or track my macros maybe I could get back there…How we look on the outside doesn’t always correlate with health on the inside, and today I train not to be the fittest but for my own health and longevity, alongside trying to get enough sleep, manage stress, cultivate relationships, and develop a purposeful career that serves others.”
