Would You Pay $2,000 for Programming by Rich Froning?
|
The story.
Last week, CrossFit Mayhem sent out an email to the Mayhem athlete community offering personalized programming designed by the GOAT himself, Rich Froning, for $2,000 per month.
That’s steep, but…
We figure that right about now you’re checking your credit card balance, home refinance options and EOY bonuses so here’s the skinny on what you’ll get.
⁃ Personal program designed by Rich Froning through Wodify.
⁃ 10-15 minute weekly phone calls with Rich Froning.
⁃ Kick-off consultation to discuss goals, weaknesses, etc.
⁃ Weekly emails to touch base on performance, tweaks, check-ins, etc.
⁃ Free monthly drop-in at CrossFit Mayhem.
⁃ Free Mayhem athlete t-shirt after 3 months.
They can’t be serious.
Can’t they tho? Time with celebrity athletes, musicians, et. al commands a pretty high price. During previous off seasons, Rich, Josh Bridges and Dan Bailey hosted weekend “Good Dudes” seminars around the same price point. And as far as CF celebrities goes, Rich is at the top of the list.

What to tell your Nana Patty who sighs loudly and says it’s too late now, she’ll never be able to run that marathon…
Think again, Nana! Just take a look at Jeannie Rice, who at age 70 finished in 3:27:50, smashing the 70-plus women’s world record of 3:35:29 set by Helga Miketta of Germany in 2013. Rice, who still works as a realtor, felt fine after her marathon and was back at work (in heels!) Tuesday after the Sunday race.

WATCH: Change Starts at Home
The owners and coaches of CrossFit Fatu Toa have made it their mission to improve health in Samoa, an island nation with an obesity rate north of 75 percent. Family is at the center of Samoan culture, and that might be the secret to turning things around. Affiliate manager Lupe Sefo says that’s the way to make a change, “just through family.”
FIT FAMILY FUN.

HEAR: Pat Vellner on Beating Mat Fraser
Michael Cazayoux had Patrick Vellner on the Brute Strength podcast to discuss how he’s changed his training to meet the ongoing changes in CrossFit. They also discuss how Vellner fell into competitive CrossFit, why he feels Mat Fraser has been so dominant thus far, and exactly how he plans to beat him.
VELLNER VS. FRASER.

It happens. Anyone that tracks their macros has lived it. You overeat Friday or Saturday night. You wake up the next morning tempted to undereat to “make up for it.” You shouldn’t do that, and here are five reasons why.
NOT A PUNISHMENT.

The 2019 CrossFit Games season is now in full swing as the first-in-season sanctioned event wrapped up their qualifier this morning at 5:00 AM PT/8:00 AM ET.
The top 35 athletes after three weeks of events will move on to compete at the Championship in Dubai December 12 – 15, 2018. There are a total of 37 individual male and female athletes competing in December, however, the first two spots were granted to former champions Mathew Fraser, BK Gudmundsson, Annie Thorisdottir, and Sara Sigmundsdottir.
In addition to earning a spot to compete in Dubai, all qualifying athletes and team will receive a cash payout.
This elite division only competition will grant one male, female and team a spot to the 2019 CrossFit Games.
The Dubai CrossFit Championship staff are reviewing scores and video submissions to finalize the list. After all results are verified, invitations will be sent out. If an athlete declines their invitation it will be passed on to the next athlete on the leaderboard.
