Rain-swollen rivers flooded two French affiliates after days of rain pounded southern France and northern Italy according to Willy Georges, France’s national champion CrossFitter.

Both CrossFit French Riviera and CrossFit Frejus, about an hour outside of Nice, France, flooded. CrossFit French Riviera was under 1.6 meters, or 5.2 feet of water ruining all their bikes, skis and rowers. The storms, which have spread across France, Italy and Greece have killed nine according to the Independent, a UK-based newspaper.

“We were fortunate to have the support of many of our members who are here to help us,” said Fanny Debiage, French Riviera’s communications manager. “All our row, bike and ski are dead. We can [still] WOD with some material, but everyone is understanding.”

After days of cleanup, both gyms are operational and holding classes, but Debiage expressed concern for replacing equipment. CrossFit Frejus opened for classes at 12:30 PM on Wednesday.
