Drop-in Doc Urges Doctors and Coaches to Form “Circle of Communication”

One year ago, Dr. Adam Schulte opened a full-service Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice -- The Drop-in Doc -- located within Resolution CrossFit in Yorba Linda, CA, the goal being to bridge the gap between acute medical care and fitness, and to provide patients with a more preventative approach to healthcare.
Remind me: The DPC model gives physicians an alternative to the fee-for-service insurance billing in the United States. Instead, Schulte charges adults $75, children $20, and families of four $150 per month. “It includes unlimited visits, after hours and weekend hours for emergencies (or) urgent needs,” he explained. This lets him bypass the “nebulous” challenges that go along with dealing with insurance companies and saves patients time and money in the process, he explained.
