Project Onyx, a pending non-profit organization, is running a donation match during the CrossFit Games. Teaming up with the Institute of Clinical Excellence (ICE), the group will match every dollar up to $10,000 for any donation made to Project Onyx from now until Monday, August 2.

Why it matters: Project Onyx works to “eliminate barriers that underrepresented and underserved people of color face by providing affordable and accessible health and fitness services, mentorship for our youth and future professionals.” All funds help in diversion, equity, and inclusion efforts, primarily for the youth.

  • The money raised will help sponsor youth members to engage in physical fitness or other activities that promote health and fitness.
  • During the CrossFit Open, Project Onyx ran a donation match with an anonymous sponsor. The money raised paid for 15 youth members to come to the CrossFit Games.

As of Thursday, they were at about 10% of their goal of raising $10,000. You can either donate online or through a wire transfer.
