Heads turned when 23-year-old Gabi Migala finished on the podium at the Rogue Invitational last month, behind only the five-time fittest woman on earth Tia-Clair Toomey and six-time Games podium finisher Annie Thorisdottir.

Who is Gabi Migala?

Migala is still relatively lesser known in the greater CrossFit community, but she really shouldn’t be. She isn’t new to the sport and has actually competed at four CrossFit Games already, her first being in 2016 when she placed third overall in the 16-17 year-old division.

She also competed at the Games in 2019 and 2020, and most recently, Migala quietly placed sixth overall at the 2021 Games. That being said, she didn’t get a lot of screen time throughout the course of the weekend in Madison, WI.

Though Migala was in the final heat for much of the Games, the cameras and commentators tended to focus on heat leaders and the bigger names in the heat. In fact, even during Event 5, an event where Migala placed second, there was no mention of her until more than eight minutes into a workout she finished in less than 12 minutes, and even then she was shown just briefly.
