Can CrossFit Help Singapore’s Aging Population?

Nearly one in five people in Singapore are aged 55 or over. The Southeast Asian country is approaching the growing elderly population with the introduction of new legislation to incentivize wellness. Healthier SG 2023 is a government initiative aiming to shift medical focus from “sick care” to preventative care.

Gyms like CrossFit Innervate and Actualize CrossFit are utilizing functional fitness for aging adults through their masters programs. These classes highlight the power of community among the typically isolated or overlooked aging population and show the positive impact of preventative care.
