Ðukić, Mathew, Turner: Familiar Names Unofficially in Qualifying Position for 2026 Wodapalooza Miami

October 22, 2025 by

Though it feels like 2025 Wodapalooza SoCal just finished, the team is already busy preparing for its 14th annual event in Miami.

  • The competition shifts from January to March in 2026, and the online qualifiers for individuals have just concluded.

The details: The top 10 men and women will compete as elites, along with invitees who will be announced closer to the event. Athletes finishing in 11th through 49th place will compete in the RX Division.

  • Check out the current leaderboard here. (Note: the scores have yet to be reviewed and remain unofficial at the time of publication.)

Over the past two weeks, the athletes took on five workouts, and true to Wodapalooza’s tradition, the programming was one-of-a-kind. Here are our two favorites:

Workout 1

20-minute AMRAP (7 rounds: 2 min on / 1 min off)

40-30-20-10

  • calorie row
  • burpees over-the-rower
  • toes-to-bar

We are always up for an interval-style workout because they offer strategic potential, and this one has a lot to consider.

Aline Wirz and Connor Volz took the unofficial win on this workout with scores of 334 and 365, respectively. This score meant that Wirz completed all the reps one full time through and was back at the top, with 34 out of 40 calories on the row, and Volz completed 25 out of 40 burpees-over-the-rower on his second time through.

  • Everyone who currently sits in a qualifying position in the elite division completed at least one round of the AMRAP.

Workout 5

On a 7-minute clock, complete for total load:

  • 9 bar muscle-ups
  • 9 squat snatches – pick the load
  • 7 bar muscle-ups
  • 7 squat snatches – pick the load
  • 5 bar muscle-ups
  • 5 squat snatches – pick the load

We loved how this workout offered athletes the flexibility to choose their load for the squat snatches. The workout was scored based on the heaviest load, with finishing time used as the tie-breaker.

Illia Moskalenko took the win on the men’s side with 765 pounds and a finishing time of 6:34. For the women, Hannah Black won with a weight of 501 and a finishing time of 6:25.

The Leaderboard

The leaderboards are filled with CrossFit Games and Semifinals athletes, especially in the women’s division.

  • Although we don’t have the list of 2026 invitees and the qualifiers’ videos haven’t yet been reviewed and finalized, we hope to see the following athletes compete in Miami Beach next spring.

Men

Nick Mathew

The fan favorite is currently sitting second on the leaderboard. Mathew is a four-time Wodapalooza veteran with experience competing both as an individual and on a team.

  • In 2025, he finished in 10th place, marking his highest finish since 2023, when he took sixth. Mathew took fourth in workout 5 of the qualifier, which we could expect from the heavy lifter.

Bill Leahy

A rookie at the 2025 CrossFit Games, Leahy might also be a first-time contender at 2026 Wodapalooza. Having never competed in Miami, Leahy currently sits in third place on the online qualifier leaderboard.

Luka Ðukić

Ðukić is looking for a sophomore appearance at 2026 Wodapalooza. Last year, he competed as an individual and on a team with Moritz Fiebig and Harry Lightfoot. Dukic is currently in fifth place on the qualifier leaderboard.

Women

Matilde Garnes

After being sidelined by an injury since last spring, Garnes is now in fourth place and ready to compete.

  • Although she missed the 2025 Wodapalooza, Garnes placed third in 2024 with the team “Scandinadian,” alongside teammates Anikha Greer and Rebecka Vitesson.

Hannah Black

Hannah Black arguably had the busiest CrossFit season this year and is currently in sixth place on the qualifier leaderboard.

  • Like Leahy, Black would be a rookie at Wodapalooza. Black won qualifier workout 5, which is no surprise, as she is one of the strongest lifters in the game.

Ellie Turner

The Australian currently holds one of the last qualifying spots, in ninth place.

  • A three-time CrossFit Games athlete, Turner was injured during the 2023 CrossFit Games and has spent time since then recovering, rehabbing, training, and competing in triathlons, including a 70.3 Ironman.

Turner last competed at Wodapalooza in 2022, where she took sixth place.
