The first ATHX season has officially wrapped, with athletes traveling to Birmingham, UK, on Saturday, December 6, for the finals.

To compete in the event, athletes had to qualify earlier in the season at one of six competitions in their division – Pro, Individual, Pairs, or Age-Group.

  • From January through October, close to 6,000 athletes participated in the season.

Remind Me

The ATHX Games is a UK-based hybrid fitness competition, backed by Adidas, that combines strength, endurance, and speed through a series of high-intensity events.

  • Designed for athletes of all skill levels, the program features challenges such as barbell lifts, cardio machines, functional movements, and tactical workouts that assess both strength and endurance.

The 2025 ATHX competitions have showcased an expanding lineup of professional hybrid and CrossFit athletes, including Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson, James Sprague, Ty Jenkins, Ella Wilkinson, Jen Muir, Graham Halliday, Lucy McGonigle, and Chandler Smith, among others.

The two-and-a-half-hour event challenges athletes with three separate workouts that remain the same throughout the season. Each year, the workouts will evolve to challenge competitors in new ways and allow them adjust their training.

The Workouts

After 30 minutes in the “Warm-Up Zone,” athletes move to the “Strength Zone.” There, competitors spend the first six minutes finding a five-rep max back squat, then, in the next six minutes, they must find a 10-rep max strict press.

  • Athletes then have ten minutes to refresh and recover in the “Refuel Zone.”

Next up is the “Endurance Zone,” the second of three workouts. Athletes complete a two-part test: a 12-minute max-distance run and a 12-minute max-distance bike. They can choose which they tackle first, and there is a designated two-minute rest in between.

Lastly, athletes take on the “Metcon X Zone,” where they have 25 minutes to complete the following:

  • 25 calorie row
  • 20 double dumbbell thrusters (20/12.5kg)
  • 15 box jump overs (24/20 inches)
  • 10 burpees
  • 5 sandbag ground to shoulder (40/30kg)
