Roza to Kick Off European Affiliate Tour Friday

Starting on Friday, August 27, CrossFit CEO Eric Roza will kick off a 10-day long European affiliate tour starting in London, visiting Spain, Germany, France, Italy and The Netherlands, all countries with the highest concentration of affiliates in Europe.

One big thing: According to an Instagram post from CrossFit UK, the purpose of the tour is to “listen to the international community, and show some love for the affiliates in light of the hardships suffered by box owners and the industry in general over the last 18 months.”

  • Since taking over the company a year ago, COVID restrictions have made any kind of in-person outreach in Europe nearly impossible.
  • Accompanying Roza on the tour will be Gary Gaines, CrossFit’s General Manager of Affiliates, Daniel Chaffey, CrossFit’s International Director, and Jason Dunlop, President of CrossFit.

According to several Instagram posts, each country will be hosting an exclusive event for in-country affiliate owners only to hear directly from Roza, ask questions and get to the know the new CEO who just celebrated his first year of tenure at the helm of CrossFit.

OpEd: Why Breathwork Is the Perfect Mental Health Tool for CrossFitters

From headlines surrounding global sports stars like Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka to CrossFit Games athlete Brent Fikowski discussing his mindfulness training, mental health is trending these days, and it’s for good reason.

The way we think and feel—a simple way to define mental health—is equally as important to diet and exercise in achieving optimal health and even performance.

Still, tending to one’s mental health can feel like an immeasurable effort. And CrossFitters who thrive on progress are often less motivated to add practices that may not provide immediate results, such as meditation or mobility, to our already busy routines.

What if there was a trackable tool that not only improved mental health and performance but also provided benefits we could immediately feel? Enter: breathwork.
