A heavy, emotion-filled week was capped off Friday by a sliver of good news as a collective of prominent content creators in the CrossFit community announced a charitable fundraiser. The fundraiser, which dropped shortly after 12:00 PM PST, aims to raise money for a select group of organizations in the wake of recent events surrounding racial inequality in the United States.

What you need to know: The collective includes content creators from basically every platform of the community including news outlets, social media, podcasts, vlogs, and journalists.

  • The fundraiser will run for eight days total and will conclude at the end of the day Friday, June 12.
  • 100% of the proceeds will be donated to charity, meaning that the more shirts sold, the higher collective donation from the creators spearheading the fundraiser as well.
  • The beneficiaries of the fundraiser are the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, and the Color of Change racial justice organization.
  • The website address: www.xinjustice.com. All additional information can be found there.

Standing together: The issue of racial inequality in the United States is a difficult, and complex one that requires a multi-faceted and nuanced solution. Widespread improvement will not just happen overnight, and the seeds of change will not be planted without actions to back up words and sentiments. Creating ways to contribute along the way is an important place to start being a part of the solution, and something the CrossFit community has always stood for.
