How To Be a Good Open Judge: Don’t Coach, Uphold the Standards

We covered “How to be a Good Open Citizen” a few weeks ago, now we are going to give some advice on how to excel in one of the most crucial and underrated roles in the CrossFit season, specifically the Open, being a judge. 

One big thing: By volunteering as an Open judge you are signing up to be a gatekeeper of the CrossFit Games, your decision-making and interpretation of the rulebook and movement standards are critical. The Open judge decides who will ultimately get the chance to move on to the next stages of competition with the hopes of earning a spot at the Games.
