Health Spending Accounts Help EHP CrossFit Clients Cover their Membership Dues

When Karla Wolford became a doctor of Chiropractic Medicine in 2009, she had a vision to open a facility that offered fitness, nutrition and chiropractic services all in one place, a place where clients could use their health spending accounts (HSA) or flexible spending accounts (FSA) to cover their membership fees.
- This was actually my original business plan from graduate school, but I was scared to do it,” said Wolford, now 37.
Making it happen: As of December 2020, Wolford’s clients at EHP CrossFit in Moorhead, MN -- a facility that legally operates as a medical clinic -- have the ability to use either their FSA or HSA to cover their entire $230 monthly membership fee at the gym.
