CrossFit Announces Affiliate Playbook and Resource Center to Launch in September

CrossFit Home Office has revealed another tool aimed at helping affiliates achieve success around the world. The company officially announced the September release of the CrossFit Affiliate Playbook, a tool for affiliates in good standing.
One big thing: The move is another in a series of steps Eric Roza has implemented in the last year to add value to gym owners’ annual affiliation fee, a point of contention between CrossFit corporate and owners who felt they weren’t getting the support they needed to justify the annual payment. But the book isn’t intended to be prescriptive but rather a clearing house of ideas crowdsourced through the industry.
In Roza’s own words: “I had no interest in something that specified every little micro step I needed to take. Since that time I’ve really been thinking about ‘wouldn’t it be great if there were best practices, there must be best practices to leverage, there are 12,000 gyms.’ There are different ways to do things and if we could set this up in a way where we provided tools and a tool kit without the rules, you’re welcome to do what you want inside these parameters that have worked for others.”
What’s inside:
- The CrossFit Affiliate Playbook provides guidance on “lease negotiations, preferential site determination, traffic density, permitting, and how to do proper market research.”
- Member retention is a key part of the CrossFit Affiliate Playbook. Enhancing the member experience in order to further integrate members into the community and keep them engaged for years.
- The third tier of the CrossFit Affiliate Playbook highlights ways to maximize operational capacity by focusing on financial planning. The resource center features real-world examples, expense templates, and financial calculators.
The bottom line: Expect more things like this to come.
