Send More European Women To The CrossFit Games…They’ve Earned It

August 29, 2021 by

We’ve examined representation at the Games before, and drawn into question the process by which each continent earns their respective number of qualification spots, but we haven’t gone this deep down the rabbit hole of explaining exactly what we mean by that.

Remind Me: Currently continents are awarded a set number of spots to the Games based on Open participation. This criteria accounts for nothing that has to do with competitive fitness. If the Games is about finding the fittest, should we not have the fittest there competing?

Men vs Women: One of the great things about CrossFit is that men and women have largely been given the same opportunities, same prize purses, and same amount of recognition throughout the history of this young sport. However, do they need the same number of qualifiers by continent, when the competitive field of play clearly shows a massive disparity in that regard?
