After placing 15th in the first event, Canadian Emily Rolfe was forced to withdraw from the remainder of the 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games.
Her husband Kyle Rolfe confirmed on Wednesday that Rolfe was “medically withdrawn” after Event 1.
“All I can say is she has been taken for emergency surgery,” he said, adding, “for now, we kindly ask you respect our privacy and we will advise shortly.”
Remind me: This was Rolfe’s third Games, and heading to Madison, she had high hopes and said she was feeling confident after qualifying out of the challenging Granite Games Semifinals earlier this season.
- The 33-year-old former gymnast placed in the top 20 in both 2019 and 2021—18th and 15th respectively—and said her ultimate goal for this weekend was to finish in the top 10.
- She will have to wait until next season to achieve that goal, but Rolfe confirmed two weeks ago that, although she does eventually want to start a family, she’s not ready to retire yet. “ I think I have a few more good (competitive) years in me…so I’m just going to go as long and hard as I can before then,” she said.
