Last week we rolled out the first in a series of articles in which we take a deep dive into the performances of a pair of athletes from the 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games. The first article featured Haley Adams and Gabriela Migala and explored whether or not this year was actually a worse performance by them on the field of play, despite their worse finish on the leaderboard.

In part two of the series we are focusing on the second and third place finishers in the men’s division, Roman Khrennikov and Ricky Garard, who both missed out on a majority of the prime of their athletic career in the sport, at the Games, for very different reasons.

There are three primary questions we want to explore today:

  1. How different were their performances at the Games this year?
  2. Who has more potential in 2023?
  3. How impressive were these 2nd and 3rd place performances historically?
