Correction: This article previously stated that the workout retreats were "CrossFit" retreats, however none of the retreats listed in this piece were organized or approved by CrossFit LLC. We have updated the piece to reflect this and we regret the error.

Travel for health and wellness, activities and exercise is on the rise and working out is at the forefront of the growing area for holiday makers.

COVID-19 accelerated the trend for "active holidays" making it one of the hottest areas for all travel categories, according to Forbes Magazine

In the UK, Google searches for "UK Wellness Retreats" rose by 410% in the first eight months of 2022, according to Luxury Travel Magazine.

Workout and functional fitness retreats are now commonplace. Novices or beginners can pay a company to organise a trip that includes accommodation, workouts and coaches, food, chefs or restaurants and even non-workout related activities, like windsurfing.
