The road to gold continues for Team Invictus! Team Quarterfinals left us with some amazing performances from all of our Invictus Athletes. When the dust settled, three Invictus teams had qualified for the North America West Semifinal in Pasadena, CA. These three teams all placed in the top six of the West Coast Quarterfinal team rankings. Meaning, the next time you see our teams they will be battling it out in the final heat at Semis.

Team Invictus returns all four members from its 2022, 3rd place Games team and they are hungry for the top of the podium this year. They currently sit in 2nd place worldwide and 1st in the North America West Region. Over the course of the four workouts, Team Invictus did not have a single finish outside of the top five. Heading into Semifinals they are looking to recreate the magic they had from last year’s Semifinals, where they took 1st and won 3 of the 6 workouts. Team members from left to right: Josh Al-chamaa, Brittany Weiss, Devyn Kim, and Jorge Fernandez.

Team Invictus Unconquerable has some familiar faces and some new ones. Eric Carmody is a longtime Invictus Athlete with multiple Games appearances. Emily Rethwill and Jessi Smith are very strong athletes and have qualified for multiple CrossFit semifinals. Tyler Soderback is a newer addition to the Invictus Athlete Camp and absolutely crushed the Open finishing amongst the top of all San Diego Invictus Athletes who competed this year! Unconquerable is currently in 9th place worldwide and 3rd in the North America West Region. Team members from left to right are: Tyler Soderback, Emily Rethwill, Jessi Smith, and Eric Carmody.

Team Invictus Sea of Green is currently in 30th place worldwide and 6th in the North America West Region. While most of them – except Torres – are newer to the Invictus Camp, all of them are extremely talented athletes. Lauren Stallwood and Kelsey Schulte both bring Semifinal experience and put up an impressive score of 31 clean and jerks between the two of them in test 3B. Sean Early, similar to Soderback from Unconquerable, is new to CrossFit competition but put up very impressive scores throughout the Open and Individual Quarterfinals. Team members from left to right are: Sean Early, Lauren Stallwood, Kelsey Schulte, and Lalo Torres.

Team Invictus Unbowed is the pride and joy of the San Diego gym location. All of these athletes earned their spot by their successes and accolades in our local “Competition” classes which means they joined Invictus San Diego as members off the street and worked their butts off to get their team to Quarterfinals. Although they won’t be moving on to Semifinals, we are super proud of their 224th place worldwide and 49th in the North America West Region. You will surely see these athletes’ names in the future! Invictus Unbowed team members from left to right are: Jasmine Woods, Kisha Wilson, Andy Lowry, and Will Moe Raynes.

Ready to join the Invictus Camp? We’d love for you to move to San Diego and join a team! But if you can’t, we understand and have an option for you to follow along remotely in one of our online competitive programs offered through SugarWOD. Invictus Athlete and Competition are coached by the same awesome duo of Hunter Britt and Holden Rethwill that our in-house athletes work with. And Masters athletes enjoy the expertise of program creator and longtime Invictus coach, Nichole Kribs. No matter which you choose, you will not train alone because besides the expert, hands-on coaching feedback you receive, you also have a community of support with others in the program! Join now and start preparing for your next competition, whatever that may be!
