Review of the Week: OLLY Pre-Game Energize Gummies

As someone who has gotten “pre-workout drunk” before- yes you know the feeling if you’ve taken way too much pre-workout before- I quit taking pre-workout cold turkey after my near death experience. Because of this, sometimes it’s frustrating when I don’t have that extra pep in my step before a workout because I don’t want to jack myself up with caffeine.
I’d heard about OLLY vitamins before but had never tried them for myself. I saw they make all kinds of vitamin gummies (for sleep, energy, libido, relaxation, focus, and everything you can imagine) but I was super intrigued when I saw the Pre-Game Energize gummies, so I knew I had to give them a shot.
I took one of these gummies everyday before my workouts during the month of August. Here are my key takeaways.
Chewing a gummy is far superior to chugging pre-workout. Having to plan time to sit and drink pre-workout and time it right around when I’m working out is a pain. Being able to pop a tasty gummy in and chew it on the way out the door is so much more convenient. Plus the blackberry and lime flavor is SO tasty.
I felt a normal amount of energy, but not like my face was melting off. I had a little extra pep in my step, and was chattier with the other athletes in class and overall had a more improved mood when walking into the gym without feeling shaky or panicked.
I was able to push myself harder in later rounds of a long AMRAP than I normally would. Sometimes I feel like I’ve just ran out of gas, but I had a little extra in the tank these past few weeks.
The ingredients didn’t make me wonder where my energy was coming from. Green coffee bean extract. Green tea extract. Plants. Fruits. Done.
The bottom line: I’ve really enjoyed taking OLLY gummies before my workouts, and would recommend them to a friend. I also am looking forward to trying their recovery gummies so stay tuned for that review!
