What CrossFit Athletes Are Binge-Watching This Off-Season

October 24, 2025 by

Double days, strength sessions, accessory work, recovery routines, and meal prep — it takes a huge amount of time and dedication to compete at an elite level.

  • While professional CrossFit athletes spend long days in the gym, full rest days are also a vital part of the recipe for success.

We recently shared an article listing books recommended by bookworm athletes for the upcoming cozy season. This time, we asked around about TV shows worth binge-watching.

Here are some series that the pros are currently into. Maybe there are a few you’ll want to add to your winter watchlist.

Harry Lightfoot

“I’m finishing Better Call Saul at the moment, as I freaking love anything like that. Breaking Bad is still by far the best thing I’ve watched, and because I’m so bad at watching TV, it took me several years to watch it,” he told us.

He added: “Currently, watching [Monster: The Ed Gein Story] whilst I’m on my bike sessions. Lastly, I watched Yellowstone last winter, and it was so good! I almost want to start it again.”

  • Better Call Saul and Monster: The Ed Gein Story are available on Netflix, and Yellowstone is available on Peacock.

Alex Gazan

Gazan told us she’s rewatching Friends, which aired for 10 seasons and is frequently rerun on cable channels like Nickelodeon and TBS.

  • Friends can be streamed on HBO Max.

Ellie Turner

Turner always has a good TV show recommendation ready, but her current favorite is The Girlfriend.

Switching between two different perspectives, The Girlfriend is a thriller about a close-knit British family that will keep you guessing until the very end.

  • The Girlfriend can be streamed on Amazon Prime.

Sam Kwant

“My wife and I are watching Fire Country. We get through like two episodes a week, though. Kids keep us busy at night,” Kwant said.

  • Fire Country airs on CBS and is available to stream on Netflix.

Nate Ackermann

Ackermann recommended Landman, a drama starring Billy Bob Thornton set in modern-day West Texas.

Landman focuses on the oil boom and the lives of everyone involved in the industry. It’s based on the podcast Boomtown, and although only one season has been released so far, filming for the second season wrapped recently.

  • Landman can be streamed on Paramount+.

Ty Jenkins

While admittedly not a huge TV watcher, Jenkins said that if he had to recommend one show, it would be The Chosen

The Chosen is a historical Christian drama that follows the life of Jesus Christ.

  • The Chosen can be streamed on Amazon Prime or Apple TV+.

Paige (Powers) Rodgers

“My current TWO shows are Vampire Diaries and Nashville,” Rodgers told us.

  • Both shows, available on Netflix, have multiple seasons. Vampire Diaries aired for eight seasons, and Nashville for six, offering plenty of binge-watching opportunities.

Lucy Campbell

Campbell recommended the British reality show Celebrity Traitors, a game show in which contestants try to outsmart each other while facing regular challenges. The cast is made up of British celebrities. The show is based on a similar U.S. program called The Traitors.

  • For those watching outside of the UK, the best option is to use a VPN to stream the program via BBC iPlayer.

Sydney Wells

Wells recommended High Potential, a show that follows a single mom (Kaitlin Olson from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), who teams up with a detective to solve crimes. The show is in its second season.

  • High Potential is currently airing on ABC and is also available to stream on Hulu.

Jack Farlow, Maddie Sturt, Jay Crouch

None of the three watches any specific programs; instead, they opt for YouTube videos.

  • “I haven’t watched a single show,” Farlow shared. But he mentioned to us that he watches endurance athlete Lionel Sanders on YouTube.
