Jayson Hopper, the 2025 CrossFit Games Fittest Man on Earth, hit the competition floor last weekend in Aberdeen, Scotland, to battle it out at the 7th annual Rogue Invitational.

He entered the competition with six career event wins, tying him with Patrick Vellner for the most in Rogue history. But, as the dust settled on Sunday, the rising star walked away as the Invitational’s winningest male athlete on the back of three event victories, bringing his total all-time to nine.

  • Hopper first competed at the Rogue in 2021, just months removed from his CrossFit Games debut.

He earned his first Rogue event win that year on “Event 3: Echo Burner,” which became the first of many moments that solidified his “King of the Echo Bike” title. He finished the event in 2:33, three seconds faster than the eventual 2021 Rogue champion, Justin Medeiros, who took second.

Hopper’s Rogue Career Highlights

After taking seventh place overall in 2021, he headed back to Round Rock, TX, for his sophomore appearance the next year and added two more wins to his tally. The first of them was the kickoff of the weekend, “Event 1: Texas Trail.”

Later that weekend, he won “Event 8: Snatch and Press” with a time of 6:56. The workout was:

Three rounds for time:

  • 20 DB snatch (100/70 pounds)
  • 9 parallette handstand push-ups (4/2-inch deficit)

He earned another event win in 2023. Then, in 2024, the year Rogue moved to Europe, he secured two more wins, resulting in his highest overall finish to date: third place.

Hopper at the 2025 Rogue Invitational

Hopper’s first win at the 2025 Rogue Invitational came during “Event 2: William Wallace.” The workout consisted of three rounds of log clean and presses and yoke carries, and concluded with the return of the “Power Stairs.” He won in 3:45, edging out this year’s eventual champ, Jeff Adler, who trailed him by eight seconds.

His second win came Saturday in “Event 4: The Crux,” which challenged athletes with a row, bench press, and horizontal pegboard traverse. The men’s body weight determined their bench press weight, with Hopper weighing the heaviest in the group at 230 pounds.

  • He joked about his weight with announcer Kiki Dickson in his post-event interview: “Program for the best, scale for the rest.”

His final win of the competition was “Event 5: The Duel V,” a victory he foresaw. In the same interview with Dickson, he shared his excitement for the upcoming workout.
