Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr Named TFAP’s “Athlete of the Year,” Announces Second Pregnancy
Eight-time CrossFit Games winner Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr can add another award to her collection: The Female Athlete Project (TFAP) recently selected the G.O.A.T. as its Athlete of the Year.
TFAP is a media platform founded by Australian Olympian Chloe Dalton that focuses on women in sports at all levels and features a weekly women’s sports news podcast called The Wrap.
The organization announced the awards earlier this month in a video shared on the TFAP YouTube channel.
Bez Morton and Dalton presented the series of awards, including Athlete of the Year. Once they announced the winner, Toomey-Orr appeared on video to accept the award and reflect on her tremendous career.
- “As I get older, and now that I have a daughter, I’m trying to slow down, stop and smell the roses, but I think early on in my career I was just so determined to achieve these big dreams and goals,” Toomey-Orr said in her interview with TFAP.
For those who lost count, Toomey-Orr won her eighth CrossFit Games title in 2025, cementing her spot as perhaps the most dominant athlete in the sport.
While there has been considerable speculation about whether she is ready to retire from the CrossFit Games, her announcement that she is pregnant with her second child likely means we will not see her on the competition floor for the Games in 2026.
In her interview on The Wrap, she did hint that if she goes for that ninth title, she might as well just round it out with a whole number, saying, “If I go number nine, I’m going to go number 10. Honestly, 10 definitely sounds amazing.”
The Australian native goes on to say she’s also interested in doing other things, such as HYROX, which she took on in 2025.
