Does 21.2 Favor Smaller Athletes?

Following 21.1 one could fully expect a heavy barbell to help offset the first test which was advantageous for the smaller, lighter athletes. Seeing the announcement of workout 21.2 (a repeat of Open WOD 17.1) was somewhat surprising though, as Castro has now provided two out of three weeks of this year’s test, and the heaviest object in sight is a 50 or 35 pound dumbbell.

On the surface this workout looks like yet another one that would be favorable for an athlete with a shorter range of motion. So, as always when these suspicions emerge, it’s best to turn to the data.
