Gym Closures Have Devastated Mental Health, Say Affiliates Owners, Members and New Study
New research out of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario discovered that pandemic-related anxiety and stress, as well as a lack of access to the gym and gym equipment in the last year has made it difficult for people to stick to an exercise routine, which has damaged their mental health.
The details: The study looked at 1,669 participants, mostly female Canadians between the ages of 18 and 29. Each was asked a number of questions to gauge their past and current physical activity levels, as well as their stress, anxiety and depression levels.
