When it Comes to Client to Coach Ratio, 12 to 1 is the Maximum

Like all things CrossFit and fitness, the answer to the question of how many athletes are too many for one coach to handle is “it depends.” It depends on the nature of the movements in the training session, the experience level of the clients, and the experience level of the coach.
A near consensus: Despite the variables, we asked 150 gym owners their thoughts on coach to client ratio, and 88 of them said 12 was the maximum number of clients one coach can successfully coach without the quality of service declining.
- Forty six others said 16 was the limit, while six said 10. Six others pegged their maximum number of clients for one coach at 20, and four said 24.
