Is the CrossFit Level 1 Still Enough to Become a Coach Today?

One thousand dollars and a two-day course, and you’re off the races. That was the original idea behind the CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course: a relatively low barrier to entry coaching certification and you could become an affiliate owner, or begin coaching at one.
It worked.
In the following years, tens of thousands of CrossFit enthusiasts took the Level 1 and immediately opened gyms and started coaching. By 2009, there were 1,000 affiliates worldwide. By 2012, that number had jumped to 5,000, and it hit 10,000 by 2014.
Nearly 20 years later, however, the question begs to be asked: Is the CrossFit Level 1 enough to become a coach, let alone an affiliate owner, and especially to become a full-time professional coach in 2021?
